MORE than 250 music fans are expected at Beverley Minster's Youth Café on Friday (March 12) for a gig under the banner of "Pop Stars".

On show will be two local acts, Star Shaped City and Alex Bampton.

The evening runs from 7pm-to-9.30pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available from the libraries at Beverley Grammar School, Beverley High School and Longcroft School.

Youth Minister Lee Kirkby says the number of people attending the Youth Café has risen slightly in recent months and the last attendance peaked at over 280.

Money raised through ticket sales and the tuck shop has gone towards a new £3,000 sound system.
