Lord Heseltine 'encouraged' by the Humber LEP's response to his report during Hull visit
Lord Heseltine has described his meeting today with business and political leaders as "encouraging".
The former Tory Deputy Prime Minister was in Hull to discuss the Humbers' role as a pathfinder following his report titled 'No Stone Unturned', published last autumn, calling for Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) to be given control over funds currently administered by Westminster.
He met with local leaders, including chairman of the Humber LEP Lord Haskins, at the World Trade Centre in Queen Street to discuss the way forward.
Lord Heseltine said: "The meeting was very comprehensive and we discussed the LEP's reaction to my report.

"The response was very encouraging and I can certainly see opportunities for the Humber."
The region volunteered to be a pathfinder, alongside Birmingham, to lead the way in implementing the findings of Lord Heseltine's report.
Lord Heseltine will continue to work closely with the region's LEP over the coming months.
