“Lord Heseltine, this area does need help from Westminster,Hull and the Humber is underachieving, having 50 years of mainly labour rule the area has mainly stagnated,if Hull was a German city,it would be a thriving European port, unfortunately, there is still a massive north, south divide in the UK,which is not healthy for the UK economy.
a thriving Hull and the humber, would help the UK get out of a recession,we need better transport links road and rail and a strategy for the humber region,i think this is one reason, many companies have left this region, they see no hope here, which is criminal, because there is massive potential here.”

“Liverpool in the 80's.. yeah.. that's when there was a mass exodus from the city... look in any town all over the world you'll find a scouser.. they knew there was nothing there for them.. sadly..”

“He did a decent enough job with Liverpool in the eighties. His efforts then laid the foundation for the regeneration of Liverpool city centre which is one of the successes of such projects.
Mind you, Liverpool city councillors set aside their differences for the common good.
What chances in Hull I wonder?”
