MOvember Goals Hull

Hull 5 a side football team Japjar have been crowned winners of the first ever Movember tournament after winning the Movember Cup at the Goals Soccer Centre in Hull. The eight team charity tournament which took place on Sunday evening at Goals Hull off Innovation Drive helped raise £350 for the Movember charity. Japjar who play weekly at Goals Hull in the student league will now be entered into a national prize draw to win an all-expenses paid trip to Copenhagen on Saturday- 1st December to play against a Danish 5 a side team. Goals, who are one of the official Movember partners are hosting 5-a-side football tournaments at each of their 43 centres up and down the country throughout the month of 'Movember', to help raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. Graham Richardson Goals Hull Centre Manager said: "It was a fantastic tournament to host and we have created a lot of awareness for Movember and men's cancer with the support from local businesses and Radio Humberside. He added: "The teams, staff and referee's really enjoyed the evening of which I thank them personally for their effort and particularly to those who had grown a MO. There was a great atmosphere with a raffle at end of group stages." Movember is responsible for thousands of 'Mos' appearing on men's faces in the UK and around the world every November. The aim of the campaign is to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer charities. Last year Movember raised in excess of £79.3 million.
