EAST YORKS: Hull East MP Karl Turner has complained about a councillor after a row over Twitter.

Mr Turner used the social networking site to say it was an "absolute disgrace" job centres could start referring "starving" people to food banks.

James Bannister, a Conservative councillor in Newcastle-under- Lyme, called Mr Turner an abusive name in reply and posted a picture of a malnourished African child.

Mr Bannister went on to say: "My experience of the job centre is people getting their Giro and drug dealing outside."
