MP thrilled to act as go-between for the Queen
E RIDING: East Yorkshire MP Greg Knight will act as the go-between with Parliament and the Queen.
Mr Knight has been officially appointed Vice-Chamberlain of the Royal Household by the Queen.

The Conservative politician visited Buckingham Palace to take up the role.
As vice-chamberlain, Mr Knight will act as a link between Parliament and the Queen. He is responsible for keeping Her Majesty updated on what is happening in Parliament, as well as conveying messages between the House of Commons and Buckingham Palace.

Yesterday, Mr Knight had a private ten- minute meeting with the Queen, during which she presented him with his wand of office. Mr Knight said: "It is a great honour to be appointed to this role, especially in this Diamond Jubilee year, and I look forward to serving both the House of Commons and the Queen."
Mr Knight resigned as chairman of the procedure committee to take up the post.
