Makeover treat for grandma on the road to recovery
Beryl Mennell was starting to feel postitive after an emotional year and hoping that her family would be able to return to normal. Her husband, John, had undergone heart surgery and soon after was diagnosed with prostate cancer, but he had started chemotherapy with good results.
Beryl, 60, was so wrapped up in caring for him and travelling back and forth to Castle Hill Hospital, she didn't notice her symptoms.

The mum-of-two started her treatment after she was given the news in April 2010.
She underwent a mastectomy but also had to have lymph nodes removed because the cancer had spread.
Fortunately, after a breast reconstruction last May, she is in recovery.
It was the birth of their granddaughter, Kimberly, in March 2010, that gave Beryl the strength to keep going.
"Throughout the ordeal, she has always put her family first and got on with life as best as she can," her husband said.
We sent Beryl to Matalan in Kingswood retail park and Colour Lounge in Carr Lane for a Femail makeover.
