Man dies in Burstwick fishing lake

A man has died after falling into a fishing lake in Newbridge Road in Burstwick last night.

The 29-year-old man, of West Yorkshire, was believed to be on a fishing trip with friends when he fell into the lake and failed to surface.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 11.30pm by the ambulance service.

Emergency services continued to search the lake along with the man's friends, but the victim was found dead at about 2.30am.

Police have described it as a "tragic accident".

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "This incident is not being treated as suspicious."

The man's name has not yet been released.
