Man has eye socket broken in 5am attack in Hull's Spring Bank
A MAN suffered a fractured eye socket in a New Year's Day attack.
The 32-year-old man is in hospital after the attack in the early hours of the morning in Spring Bank, central Hull. It happened inside, or close to, Relax Bar.
Police now want to hear from anyone who may have information about the attack or who saw it take place.
The victim also suffered head injuries but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "The victim went to Hull Royal Infirmary in a taxi, where he was found to have suffered a fractured eye socket and other head injuries."
The attack happened at about 5am.
The area was cordoned off for much of yesterday while forensic teams combed the scene.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
Nationwide, emergency services were inundated with about 600 calls an hour as revellers across Britain saw in 2013.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service, like others up and down the country, employed a range of initiatives on New Year's Eve to make sure people with alcohol-related illnesses and injuries did not place too much pressure on the service and on emergency departments.
These included the use of police and paramedic teams in busy town and city centres across Yorkshire. Paramedics were stretched to the limit.

“pete sorry to hear that , im a woman have lived on springbank for at least 10 years. i go out in the day and the night never had a problem ,there is cctv on springbank, although 5 years ago we had a problem , men fighting etc, then men fighting it was between kurdis and white, and kurdis fighting each other, regardless of there natoinality. i live here and if any man or woman poses a problem outside my house i will ring the police.!”

“Why is there no CCTV along Spring Bank? I mean this area is one of the worst. I have to walk home from work on the evening and just last night walking by a number of scallywags i heard "Shall we mug him" ("And NO they were not foreigners").
I think it is an excuse for the majority to cause trouble down this part of Hull as the blame by many will alway's be, it has to be one of the foreign community. Come on, let's get a copper on the beat down this area. It really is getting bad after been mugged once myself down Spring Bank, I do not want this to be a habit!
