“Regardless of what did or did not happen in this instance, there are a number of points that rear their heads:

    1. As another poster remarks, why are farmers not forced to clean up after themselves? They'd soon grumble if I drove my Defender across their fields, and yet mud left on the road early this morning nearly caused me to do just that.

    2. There seems to have been a noticeable increase of late of young(ish) drivers driving like utter lunatics, particularly on minor country lanes... Only today a chap in his mid 20s (guess) in a very sporty looking Volvo came round a bend on the B1242 straight at me and in the same journey a black Astra just couldn't bare doing 60 behind me and overtook then having to slam all on for a sharp bend.

    3. This all begs the question.... Where are the traffic police?”

“Last time I used that road some farmer had covered it in mud, I wouldn't be too quick to judge the driver due to his age. If above the law farmers don't clean up after themselves then we can all slide off the roads."”
