Manager ready for reopening
Following a short closure for refurbishment, Chambers in Holderness Road, east Hull, reopens this Friday night under the guidance of well-known publican Pete Smith.
The venue only opens from Fridays to Sundays, with live entertainment every Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon, with karaoke disco on Friday and Sunday nights.

The owner, Steve James, said: "The refurbishment is work in progress and is going well.
"We decided to make Chambers an over-30s venue following feedback from our regulars. We have great facilities including a function room and we are presently looking for pool and darts teams to play from here."

CONGRATULATIONS to Steve Jackson, of Hessle; Daniel Haynes, of Anlaby; and Dean Mortimer, of Cottingham, on winning places in the next stages of the Mail's Star Search 2012 talent competition.
Heat nine was held last week at The Whistling Goose in Sutton Fields, Hull. Nine great contestants enjoyed the support of the crowd, with every one of the competitors deserving great credit for a good show.
I would like to thank manager Suzie Mason and her staff for making everyone most welcome. Live music is featured there tomorrow night, with Russ X appearing.

Tickets are on sale for the final of Star Search 2012 at Hull City Hall on Wednesday, August 8, and cost £10.
Twelve finalists will be taking part in the event, which will also include some special guests and surprises. Tickets are available at the Star Search heats, or by calling 01482 300300.
THE White Horse Folk Club meets every Monday night at the Foresters Arms in Beckside, Beverley, and this week they have a singer and musicians night with entry just £1.
Performers of all levels of ability are welcome to go down and do a few numbers, with special guest artists making an appearance there once a month.
Vocal instrumentalist Brian Peters plays there on July 9 and the venue is so small and friendly they don't need to use a PA system.
