SPIN-Off Productions was launched in 1991 by former actor and drama teacher Honor Pallant.

The company, based at Centre 88 in Saner Street, began touring schools in Yorkshire with a production of Romeo And Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The company, which boasts Hull-born actor Maureen Lipman as its patron, has produced a huge range of shows for primary school audiences, often based on topics from the national curriculum.

Spin-Off Productions has also run workshops such as Shaking Shakespeare to try to boost literacy and interest in theatre.

They have presented plays to promote diversity and health eating.

In 2008, the company secured a residency to promote drama at three schools in Hull that cater for children with special needs.
