McKinley the star for Premier leaders
AN unbeaten half century from Jason McKinley helped East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Premier Division leaders Patrington stutter their way to victory against North Ferriby.
The victory over the second from bottom club means Patrington maintain their 21-point lead at the top of the table.
The leaders had made a great start by bowling out Ferriby for just 109, Shaun Drewery top scoring (27), thanks in part to 2 for 13 from Ashley McKinley with the ball.
But Patrington then struggled to victory with three wickets to spare thanks to an unbeaten 59 from Jason McKinley.
Graham Mattinson (2 for 15) and Phil Watkin (2 for 15) were the pick of the Ferriby bowlers.
Second-placed Hessle keep the pressure on Patrington after recording a comfortable victory over bottom club Cottingham.
Hessle scored 200 for 9 opening the batting and then reduced Cott to just 117 all out.
Sutton-on-Hull's chances of retaining the title all but disappeared when they lost at Beverley Town.
Home side Town batted first and scored 180 for 7, with Richard Thompson top scoring with 50 and was well backed up by Tim Forden (42) and Harry Bardon (23 not out), while Stuart Hilton took 3 for 47 for the visitors.
Sutton crashed to 97 all out in reply with only Paul Ollett (27) and Lee Sinclair (23) showing any resistance against the bowling of Guy Brumfield (5 for 53) and Kieran O'Brian (4 for 37).
Kirk Ella recorded a massive victory over Hull Ionians Coal Exporters, a result that leave Ionians just above the relegation zone.
Kirk Ella rattled up 298 for 5 when they entertained Ionians with R James top scoring with 107.
Ashley Wills added 61 not out and Andy Russell (36).
Ionians were all out for 122 in reply with Shaun Johnson (37) top scoring and Mark Hooley taking 7-44.
Meanwhile, the Premier Division encounter between Hill Top and South Holderness was lost to a wet pitch.

“I must say bernie silver you have got it spot on!!! I play for Hull and Ypi the only team to represent the City in the Yorkshire League, the highest standard you can play in this region in amateur cricket and we are never mentioned, there are more teams in the city then fenners its getting slightly embarrasing now HDM sort it out!!!”

“Jamie has been correctly named in previous write-ups, my only point was just that they'd get the names correct! Jamie and Jason both play for Patrington, but are 2 completely different people! Whilst I enjoy seeing both my son and brother in the news, Jamie has lost out still, for the sake of an error.”

“Kerry, I'm afraid you're banging your head against a brick wall.
Unless you play for Fenners you don't get a look in in the HDM.
Obviously jumping ship and abandonning your local league to play in York means you must be more newsworthy.
The coverage provided by this paper of the EYCA is derisory at best. Despite this being the main league in Hull and the surrounding area.”

“The 'McKinley' in the above story was in fact JAMIE MCKINLEY my son, and not Jason, my brother. Jason plays for the club but was in fact playing for the 2nds on Saturday. Please try and get the christian names right, Jamie has lost out on this story this week, thanks!”
