Meet historic Isle drama characters at Epworth Old Rectory - home of the Wesley family

Take the opportunity to meet characters from the past when Epworth's Old Rectory hosts a series of candlelit dramas.

The dramas will be taking place on Friday, October 26 and the following Saturday, November 3 with two of the events taking place each night.

    The Old Rectory in Epworth - home to the famous Wesley family

Those attending will be greeted by people wearing period dress, representing characters from the era when the Wesleys occupied the Old Rectory, which was the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley.

They founded a movement that went on to become what is now the worldwide Methodist Church.

There will be two candlelit presentations each night, at 6pm and again at 7.30pm.

Seasonal music will be playing and refreshments – fruit punch, tea, coffee and mince pies – will be available.

There is a charge of £5 per person.

The candlelit dramas are part of an ongoing campaign to restore the Grade 1 listed building – an accredited museum – to how it would have looked when it was occupied by the Wesley family in the early 1700s.
