Members of a Hull charity will be keeping their fingers crossed tonight when their patron appears on Channel 4's Million Pound Drop Live.

Paralympic Games TV presenter Alex Brooker has pledged to donate half of any winnings from the show to the Echoes Foundation, which helps children with special needs in East Yorkshire.

Charity founder Claire Stockton said: "It's fantastic news and we will all be glued to the show.

"It could not have come at a better time because the charity only has enough funds for the next seven or eight months."
