Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and no one has been arrested in connection with the discovery of the young girl's body.
A spokeswoman said: "Police have been made aware of a message being posted on social networking sites that a man has been arrested in connection with the discovery. Police can confirm no arrests have been made."
Jess, a pupil at Beverley High, left her home in a distressed state on Saturday and was last seen on her pink bike, carrying a yellow newspaper bag, in the town's Lincoln Way around midday.
Her family reported her missing just before 2pm and specialist search teams, including underwater divers, searched the streets and Beverley Beck after a pink bike, similar to Jess's, was found close to where she was last seen.
