Finlay Ulrick
Four goals from Kate Marsden, backed up by a hat-trick by Finlay Ulrick sealed the victory with more goals from Cain Taylor, Alfie Glenn, Adam Crook and Braden Jennings.
Man of the match Taylor came up with six assists, along with Ulrick, while Marsden got five assists.
A shut-out from Thomas Weatherley in the net was supported by the defence of Tom Stubley, Susanna Pearson, Carla Clark, Beth Barwell, Aiden Strangeway and Reaghan Taylor.
A day later, however, Kingston came back down to earth with a bump in the second of their matches, losing 7-1 to the unbeaten Sheffield at their rink.
Kingston started well, but soon came under pressure from the well-drilled Sheffield forward lines. After going 2-0 down early on, Kate Marsden took the puck down the ice and centred for Alfie Glenn to fire into the net to pull a goal back.
Another two Sheffield strikes left Kingston 4-1 down at the end of the first period.
A closely contested second period saw Sheffield break the Kingston defence once more, with Tom Stubley and netminder Thomas Weatherley working hard to keep the Lasers at bay.
In the third period attacking moves from Taylor, Jennings, Jack Sewell and Glenn were well stopped by the Sheffield defence, and they then increased their lead to win by six.
Stubley was named the Kingston player of the match.
