Mum and daughter improving after A614 crash at East Cowick
A MOTHER and daughter who were seriously hurt in an horrific crash on the A614 are improving in hospital.
Karen Sarkar, 43, is said to be in a poorly condition in the intensive care unit of Leeds General Infirmary.
Her daughter Abbie, who turned ten yesterday, is described as being in a stable condition in the children's department.
Mrs Sarkar's husband, Derek, and son Ethan, 14, were killed in the crash near East Cowick on Saturday.

They were travelling on a bridge over the Aire and Calder canal when a car driven by Sheila Stavert-Lee veered on to the wrong side of the road.
Mrs Stavert-Lee, 70, was also killed.
A spokesman for the hospital said: "Karen was previously critical, so there has been a slight improvement."
