Naomi Smith, 16, of Nafferton, who underwent a liver transplant as a toddler, holds aloft the four gold medals and one silver she won at the Transplant Games in Australia
Now the 16-year-old is feeling great after winning four gold medals and a silver at the World Transplant Games in Australia.
Delighted Naomi, of Eastlands, Nafferton, near Driffield, also set new Games records for her age group in the long jump and high jump.
She struck gold in the 100 metres, long jump, high jump and sprint relay, and also won a silver at badminton.
Driffield School pupil Naomi said: "I was over the moon with my success and have still not come down to earth.
"It was pretty amazing, especially the 100 metres, and I could not really believe that I had won gold.
"I'm thrilled to bits because I bettered my haul of three golds and a silver at the last World Transplant Games in Bangkok in 2007."
Naomi, who is also celebrating doing well in GCSE examinations, added: "I had been to one World Games and done well, but what I achieved in Australia was above expectations."
She travelled to Australia's Gold Coast with her mum and dad, Jane and Dean, and 18-year-old brother Oliver.
The family raised thousands of pounds to fund the trip through a wide range of events, and Naomi thanked everyone for supporting them.
Mrs Smith said: "We are very proud of what Naomi has achieved in her sporting career, but her performance in Australia was fantastic.
"We all felt on top of the world when she set two new Games records in the long jump and high jump for her age group.
"I hope that Naomi's participation in the World Transplant Games will be an inspiration to others."
Naomi was diagnosed shortly after birth with biliary atresia, a life-threatening condition caused by having no bile ducts in the liver.
An operation to correct the problem when she was six weeks old did not work and without a transplant she probably had two months to live.
By competing in the Games, transplant recipients show how fit and well they are and demonstrate the success of organ transplantation.
