THE Scores On The Doors scheme was introduced in 2007.

Hygiene ratings for about 1,600 businesses – whether they have scored the minimum zero or the maximum 100 – have been displayed on the council's website and in shop windows.

Last year, Hull City Council joined the Food Standards Agency's national rating scheme, which is also used in the East Riding.

Instead of the receiving a grade from A to E, as in the old Scores on the Doors system, businesses are rated from zero to five, with five being the best.
