Neo-Nazi pervert jailed for 16 years
A NEO-NAZI who plotted terrorist acts at his flat in Goole because he wanted to “save Britain from multi-racial peril” has been jailed for 16 years.
Martyn Paul Gilleard, 31, of Pool Court, off Pasture Lane, was convicted by a jury at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday of engaging in preparing terrorist acts and collecting material for terrorist purposes.
Officers from Humberside Police searching his home for child pornography on October 31 last year discovered four home-made nail bombs, an array of ammunition, weapons, and documents including white supremacist propaganda and instructions on how to make a bomb.
They also found 39,000 indecent images and videos of children, ranging from the least to the most serious categories of child pornography.
Following the discovery of the bombs and weapons, Humberside Police contacted the Leeds-based Counter Terror Unit, which led the investigation, codenamed Operation Verbena.
After an intense three-day manhunt, Gilleard was arrested in Dundee.
During his trial, he claimed he had made the bombs after he had been drinking because he was “bored” and said he never thought they would work.
But Judge John Milford QC dismissed his claims when sentencing him yesterday, saying the bombs would have caused “havoc.”
The judge said he was operating as a “lone wolf” and that he was dangerous.
He said: “I'm satisfied there is no question of your fanaticism burning out by the time you were arrested. It is still burning bright.”
Judge Milford said Gilleard probably hadn't identified his targets, but added: “I'm satisfied they were mosques or some other place where black or Asian people were gathered together or demonstrations by those of the left who were opposed to your white supremacist views.
Gilleard was sentenced to 11 years for the terrorism offences and possession of firearms. He was given a 12-month sentence for possessing the indecent images of children, with a four-year extension as he was deemed dangerous by the judge.

“It's very disturbing that a man can build these types of things diy in his bedroom isn't it. If this thing is available on the internet that easy then like all teenagers now, computers are easy for them, it won't be long before the hoodies are throwing them at us in the streets instead of the now minor infliction of stabbing us all to death over chewing gum wrappers thrown onto the pavement.
