EAST RIDING: A new 20mph limit could be set on a busy street in Preston.

Police checked the speeds of more than 200 cars travelling along Weghill Road during October.

Of those, four per cent were travelling at between 31mph and 40mph.

Two drivers were issued with fixed penalty tickets for speeding.

The rest of the motorists were travelling within the 30mph limit.

The speed survey followed complaints from residents about cars speeding in the area.

Police and council officers are now examining whether a 20mph limit could be introduced.
