New RAV4 to undercut current model on price
The new Toyota RAV4 will undercut the current model on price, it has been confirmed, starting from £22,595.
The company has announced the pricing and specification structure for the new model, revealing that the 2.2-litre diesel engine in the outgoing entry-level model will be replaced by a new 2.0-litre version that boasts significantly lower CO2 emissions.

Icon models add cruise control, a touch-screen interface, automatic windscreen wipers, dual-zone climate control, a smattering of leather around the cabin and an automatic, powered tailgate.
The range-topping RAV4 Invincible will be marked out by roof rails, leather seats with the front two heated, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, a part-electric driver's seat and additional leather trim.
Both two- and four-wheel drive models are to be offered, almost exclusively with diesel engines.
The 2.0-litre D-4D unit emits 127g/km of CO2 and is available across the trim levels, but only with a manual gearbox and only in front-wheel drive. A 2.2-litre D-4D is the chief powerplant in four-wheel drive Icon and Invincible RAV4s, with a six-speed automatic gearbox available to match it for an additional £1,100.
Prices start at £22,595 and rise to £29,265 for the 2.2-litre D-4D automatic four-wheel drive Invincible model.
