North Ferriby United target Conference after Assem Allam cash 'secures future'
NORTH Ferriby chairman Les Hare believes promotion to the Conference North has been made more viable after a significant investment from Hull City owner Assem Allam.
Ferriby were dealt a severe blow at the start of last season when lost sponsorship saw revenues dip by £40,000.

'Generous': Assem Allam
But following an investment which is expected to surpass the £100,000 mark, the Villagers are now reaping the benefits of Allam's financial assistance.
As well as eradicating historic debts, Allam's cash has helped improve their annual playing budget and financed ground improvements.

"The club has endured two really bad years of unsustainable financial strain that left us on the brink and facing down-scaling," said Hare .
"To the point that would have wiped out almost 40 continuous years of hard-earned progress since the club broke into Yorkshire League back in the 1970s.
"Despite putting contingency plans into operation, our best efforts failed to produce sufficient income in difficult economic times.
"To my immense gratitude, Assem agreed to inject a significant cash sum into the club to help secure its future.
"His financial support has removed our entire bank deficit, secured jobs, covered our playing budget, enabled the acquisition of five new players, provided hope for promotion through incentives and enhanced ground facilities for the greater benefit of the community."
The timing of the announcement comes with Ferriby sitting five points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik Premier Division ahead of the arrival of FC United of Manchester tonight.
Happy that things are going so well on and off the pitch, Hare added: "Assem's generosity and overwhelming willingness to ensure we continue to prosper has significantly enhanced the valuable financial support already provided by our existing patrons and sponsors, which collectively, will now guarantee the future of this fantastic club."

“well done the allams, again giving local clubs and institutions a financial gift, and you still get some people been suspicious of there intentions, which is laughable.
i can think of some other rich local family's that have never given a bean away,to help local institutions.”

“Great news for NFU and a generous gift from Mr Allams. Be good to see NFU even higher up the league system that they might benefit from Hull City loan players. NFU have a fine manager in Billy Heath who could take them higher.....good luck to all.
And fortysumthing - the last time I looked Hall Road Rangers are actually just (only just) over the border into the East Riding. Perhaps a well crafted letter to Allam Marine might be needed, rather than a sideways swipe here on the HDM comments board (?)”

“This is good news. NFU are a great club run by good and dedicated people. They have been our top non league club for 40 years and hopefully will be for many years to come. They are always worth a visit and when you do you receive a warm welcome and watch some decent football.”

“it is great news for North Ferriby although i cant help thinking that Ferriby is a prodominantly well off area in Brough yet clubs like Hall Road Rangers who are a Community Standard club as well are situated between Bransholme and Orchard Park. These are 2 very large council estates and this is where Hall Road get the majority of their players from yet they recieve nothing from the Allams yet the club (that is actually in HULL) struggles every year. Half of what Ferriby recieved could keep Hall Road financially secure for years to come and help them recruit more youngsters to keep them off the streets...........come on Allams play fair!!!”

“Hi should be allowed to develop the K C stadium and buy it if possible. He shows by his actions where is heart is.The city can sell (with safegaurds written in) the stadium as they will never have any spare cash to fund it.
Lastlt where are all doubters that moaned about the Allams,at least he puts his money where his mouth is not like the armchair spouters

“This guy is simply amazing his gifts to the sports clubs of Hull and East Riding. I think he should be given the freedom of the city and do what he wants.”
