THE latest in superb series of education Disney Magical World Of Animals DVDs will leave the heads of youngsters swimming with facts about whales.

The latest film focuses on the huge sea mammals, including blue whales which are the largest creatures ever to have lived on earth.

Some are lethal hunters, such as the killer whale, while others are gentle giants, feeding on nothing bigger than microscopic plankton which they sieve through baleen jaws.

The Mail is offering children the chance to collect 26 DVDs, each accompanied by a fun-packed booklet and focusing on a different creature in the animal kingdom.

The unique Disney Magical World of Animals DVDs can be collected every Tuesday and are available from participating stores with tokens from the Mail at a cost of just £2.95.

The collection features all kinds of creatures across the animal kingdom from tigers to dolphins.

Robin Diaper, assistant keeper of Maritime Museum, has praised the film for giving children an insight into the elusive whales.

The Maritime Museum dedicates much of its exhibition space to the marine mammals.

While the museum looks into the history of whaling, there are also plenty of facts about whales themselves.

There are many whale-related exhibits including a full skeleton.

Mr Diaper said: "Did you know that whales sing, that a baby humpback whale weighs one metric ton, as much as 300 sheep and that humpbacks migrate 6,000 km every year between Hawaii and the Arctic oceans?

"These are just some of the amazing whale facts explained in Disney's 'Magical World Of Animals of Whale's' DVD.

"The film looks at several types of whales in an informative but fun way, interspersing film footage with clips from famous Disney films.

"There are even quiz sections where children can engage with the film and what they have learned.

"This film would be extremely enjoyable to any young child with an interest in the natural world.

"When they have watched the DVD, why not take them to Hull's Maritime Museum in Queen Victoria Square?"

The latest Disney Magical World Of Animals DVD is available from all participating outlets throughout the week and can be redeemed with a token in the Mail for just £2.95.
