Omari Caro can be a Hull KR try-scoring sensation, says Dave Hodgson
HULL KR winger Dave Hodgson believes Omari Caro can be a try-scoring sensation this season.
Hodgson, who finished as KR's leading try scorer in his first season at MS3 Craven Park, has already been impressed by what he has seen from the former London Broncos winger, as well as fellow new signing Alex Brown.

Omari Caro scores for Hull KR against Wigan
Brown missed the Wigan game because of an ankle injury, but Caro showed his pace to score twice in the 32-10 friendly win over Wigan on Sunday.
And Hodgson believes he can weigh in with his fair share of tries this season.

"Omari is showing good signs and he and Alex are great young talents," he told the Mail.
"It's going to be a test for all of us to keep our spots.
"But the teams that do well are the ones with great competition in all places.
"As long as somebody scores the tries for us, I don't mind, it takes a bit of pressure off me."
Hodgson was one of the few players to get the full 80 minutes under his belt against Wigan as Rovers used all 24 players in their match-day squad.
With coach Craig Sandercock using the game to give some of his younger players a run out, the home-grown kids will have their part to play for KR this season and beyond.
And having helped to put 32 unanswered points on a youthful Wigan side, Hodgson believes they are up to the task.
"It was pleasing to keep Wigan scoreless for 70 minutes, especially considering the number of changes we made," he said.
"We used 24 players and sometimes that can disrupt what you want to do.
"But everyone was switched on to what they had to do, especially in defence, and Wigan still had quite a few players out there who have already played in Super League.
"It was a good contest and to keep them out for so long was encouraging.
"Wigan always have good young players coming through and that's now the same for us too.
"The future looks good for Rovers with these young kids coming through."
Hodgson's next chance of a run out will come against Hull at the KC Stadium on Sunday in the Robins' final pre-season game.
Excited to be reacquainting himself with the old enemy, Hodgson says the derby is perfect ahead of their opener against Catalan on February 3.
He added: "I don't know how much of a friendly it will be, but I'm looking forward to it. It will be a good test for us to see where we stand.
"I think Craig is reducing the squad to make it feel like a normal match with players playing longer.
"And then it's down to the season starting. It's the perfect game to wrap up pre-season because it will be intense and will blow away the rest of our cobwebs."

"Nothing to do with FC's signing policy..............
Pontious Pilot said something similar.
If the allegations are true however, FC need to look at their disciplinary policy and sack him.”

“Nothing to do with FC's signing policy, unless we impose curfews on all players during the hours of darkness.
How Rovers fans can comment on this after giving Cockayne 4 get out of jail free cards is beyond me.”

“wilo74, if you want "hypocritical" I suggest you trawl through the hundreds of posts directed by Hull FC fans aimed at Ben Cockayne.....
If you are going down the "historical" route on ex-players I suggest you look at a new story on the BBC Rugby League website.....”

“If the accusations being made on here are true then surely it is for the courts and Hull FC to deal with.
I find it a bit hypocritical of KR supporters to be using this alleged incident to take the moral high ground as they are the club that employed a former FC player who had been charged with a similar offence and made him their marquee signing and club saviour. Even though it meant that player breaking the league's rules.
Is there really nothing more interesting for you to talk about? I thought this article was about a new exciting talent at your club?”

“I wonder if a plastic fork counts as a 'trick up their sleeves'?
My client and his two minders went out to buy a family takeaway for the Slug and it all went horribly wrong.
The defence rests it's case.

“everyone commiting any crime should pay the penalty no matter who they are or what position they hold,
seems like the criminals are getting more mentions on this site than the good honest blokes that play with pride for thier clubs, still if thats the only way you can have a go at your fellow rugby supporters and their teams, carry on but it may show the level that you yourself have sunk to!!!!”

“Hull FC need a root and branch overhaul of their signing policy.
It's just one disgrace after another.
The next will no doubt be the egomaniac Watts, an accident waiting to happen.
It must be another sickener for the decent FC fan.”
