LEYTON Orient forward David Mooney has promised Hull City another tough FA Cup examination in next Tuesday's third round replay at Brisbane Road.

The Tigers will head to the Matchroom Stadium, Brisbane Road, on January 15 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Mooney came within a minute of dumping the Tigers out at the first hurdle on Saturday when his header gave the League One side a late lead at the KC Stadium.

Nick Proschwitz eventually intervened in stoppage time to deny Mooney his moment of glory, but the O's will get a second crack at Steve Bruce's men in East London a week from today.

The return fixture will see City and Orient battle it out for a chance to host Barnsley in the fourth round and Mooney is bullish about his side's chances of an upset.

"They're probably still the favourites because they're a top team who can bring one or two players back in who didn't play in the first game," said Mooney.

"But if we can play as well as we have and take one or two of the chances we create, then we've got a great chance."

"We were just devastated to concede in the last minute. We can come away with a lot of pride in how we played."

City head to Brisbane Road for the first time in nine years, a venue that has been traditionally unkind in recent times.

The Tigers have failed to claim a win in their last six visits and suffered heartache there in 2000-01 when losing 2-0 in the Division Three play-offs under Brian Little.

Tickets will be available from the KC Stadium later this week and cost £15 for adults, £8 concessions and £1 juniors aged 10 and under.

“Horrible fixture on a horrible little ground. Memories of a great comeback from the Tigers there also Hull Daily Mail. From 4-1 down to a 5-4 win. Why not highlight that game?
Also memories of a soaking 0-0 draw on the first Saturday in 2001, and that play-off second leg match when they crocked our best player, Andy Holt, early on and went on to beat us 2-0.
A ground where they play music at corners and crowd noises when the home team are attacking and interrupt the game when the visitors are on top with meaningless tannoy announcements.
Not a pleasant place to visit on a Tuesday night.
Anyone who does deserves a medal.
But I hope City do them.”

“Play the reserves , youth team.

To play our full strength side in. A cup we won't win would be stupid

Who wants Aluko or Chester picking up a bad injury ?”

“for me its a gamble worth taking playing a strong-ish side for this game. with barnsley waiting in the next round a half decent cup run could be on the cards”

“50/50 wether to go down and support the lads or not. Its a long way to go to watch a reserve team. On the flip side they are still wearing black and amber !! Lets put Orient to bed with a proper team.”
