Police are appealing for information about a deaf man from Bridlington who has gone missing.

The man, believed to be 57 years old, was reported missing after walking out of Bridlington and District Hospital at 10am on June 18.

Before leaving the hospital, the man gave his details as John Lewis, date of birth May 20, 1953, residing at King Street in Bridlington.

Police have said Mr Lewis is not wanted in connection with any offence and that he attended Bridlington Hospital as a voluntary patient.

However, officers are concerned for his safety and would like to know his whereabouts.

He is described as about 6ft tall, of medium build, having short, grey, unkempt hair. He wore glasses and had a slight beard.

He was last seen wearing black trousers, a black shirt, a bright yellow tie and a grey tracksuit top.

Anyone who recognises the man, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060 222.
