Police speak to Hull FC player Jason Crookes over assault on woman

Hull FC winger Jason Crookes has been questioned by police on suspicion of punching a woman in a city bar.

Mr Crookes, 22, was spoken to by officers after a photograph of a man wanted in connection with the assault appeared as part of the Mail's Caught on Camera campaign.

He has not been charged with any offence.

The assault happened inside Soho Bar in Posterngate, city centre, last month.

The woman was punched in the face after she intervened when a man slapped her friend on the dance floor.

A spokesman for Humberside Police confirmed a 22-year-old man was spoken to by officers yesterday after voluntarily attending a police station.

The club did not respond to requests for comment.
