“I believe one miscreant that broke into a shed over the weekend was caught by the occupant and given a damn good hiding. The police arrested the occupant and the thief is still in hospital. I sincerely hope the judge see's sense if the occupant is prosecuted and gives him a medal.”

“I had a shed break-in some years ago and was told by the police that they don't even bother to come out any more for such incidents.

Anyway, should the miscreants be arrested, I would bet that they have a list of previous convictions as long as one's arm and/or drugs are involved somewhere in the chain, and/or someone blames/excuses the crimes on the economic conditions, and not simply that these people have chosen to be reprehensible thieving swill, mainly because nothing happens when they are caught time & time again.”
