“People have the wrong idea about prison.
It isn't a holiday camp but neither do the inmates use and abuse each other - unless they want to.”

“The phrase 'just desserts' does not apply here. A paltry sentence for a terrible act. However, as a firm believer in Karma, I feel this 'man' got off lightly by judicial means, but I am sure that justice will prevail eventually. My thoughts go out to Mr Putnam's family.”

“If i remember rightly this fine upstanding member of the community drove his car into someones house last year and drove off after causing damage and escaped a driving ban! Wonder if the judge wishes he had given the correct sentencing then and banned him Maybe his friend would still be alive, just a thought”

“@ hully.
The person killed was in fact a relative of mine. I have withheld my thoughts for almost a year now until he was actually sentenced.

“Six years is hardly a fitting punishment for taking someone's life. When you are in charge of a dangerous weapon (which is what a car is) and you deliberately take drugs before driving, then surely that is premeditated and should at the very least be manslaughter, not dangerous driving. Minimum of fifteen years in my opinion (and serve all of it) plus total loss of licence.”

“Anthony, if bonsai is classed as a sleeping pil then any professional medical person will tell you NOT to drive whilst taking any medication that could impair your ability to drive.
In this instance by your admission he had taken a sleeping pill, therefore should NOT have been at the wheel of a car.
The man is a fool and deserves locking up. If he had mounted a kerb and killed a family on their way home would it still be minor because he only had a sleeping pill or two, whilst driving a lethal weapon.
He knew the risks and drove like a complete idiot. Should have been the full 8 years. Let it be a warning to others who think it is ok to take sleeping pills then go out and show boat in their speed machines or any other car for that matter.”

“for all those who believe this sentence is too harsh, perhaps look into the history of this drug taking, dangerous driving piece of s***. i hope to god he gets bumm** to death in prison.”
