THE victim of a vicious attack by a teenage girl has revealed the experience has left him traumatised.

A-level student Stephen Foster said he is constantly on edge after being assaulted by 16-year-old Kirsty Ashley.

This week the Mail reported how thug Ashley, who is due to give birth any day, was filmed by friends on a mobile phone as she punched and slapped Stephen.

The attack at Paragon Interchange, Hull city centre, last September ended with her ripping out his earring and telling him "that's mine now".

Ashley was given a two-year supervision order and a six-month tagging order at Hull Crown Court.

Speaking exclusively to the Mail, Hull College student Stephen, 17, of Kingswood, said: "This girl should be in prison.

"What happened was really upsetting.

"I am on edge all the time. I won't use the bus station – I just get off a few stops earlier.

"I think she should have been dealt with harsher.

"The judge should have given her a custodial sentence for what she did to me.

"I was in shock when my mum told me she had got away with it. I feel badly let down."

Following the attack, the footage was posted on video sharing website YouTube under the category of "comedy".

It was later removed.

The court heard how Ashley and a large group of friends surrounded Stephen, who was 16 at the time of the attack and did not know them.

Ashley accused him of assaulting his girlfriend. There was no evidence to suggest this was true.

The gang backed Stephen up against a glass panel while Ashley slapped and punched him, before trying to set his hair on fire with a lighter.

Two days later she was arrested, searched and the earring was found. She claimed to have found it on the floor.

Stephen said: "I would never hit a girl. It just isn't right."

Earlier that night, Stephen had been with a small group of friends at a youth night at The Welly Club in Beverley Road.

His father, Ronald Foster, had just had major heart surgery and spent seven weeks in Hull Royal Infirmary. He has since passed away.

Stephen's mother, Jeanette Foster, 51, said: "My husband had just come out of hospital. Stephen was obviously upset and worried about his dad. It was his first night out in a good while.

"Stephen has always been a quiet lad, but this has left him traumatised."

"This thug has been given a slapped wrist. She has been allowed to walk away scot free.

The Mail persuaded Judge Roger Thorn to lift reporting restrictions in the court case, allowing us to name and shame Ashley, who was photographed leaving the building smoking a cigarette.

Mrs Foster said: "She looks a right 'un."

Judge Thorn said it was with "regret" the sentence was not custodial.
