Primary school failing to deal with racism issues, inspectors warn
A PRIMARY school where children were found using racist and homophobic language is still not tackling the issues, inspectors have warned.
Hilderthorpe Primary School in Bridlington was put in special measures this summer.

Ofsted made the move after finding children did not feel safe at the school, where inspectors found evidence of racist and homophobic comments by pupils.
Inspectors have revisited the school for a monitoring inspection, but found inadequate progress had been made. They also found safeguarding arrangements were inadequate, including "a lack of rigour" in the way families were not always informed their child had been subject to racist comments.
New acting head teacher Amanda Barnett, who has taken charge after Sue Everson retired at the end of October, insisted every effort is being made to improve.
Mrs Barnett said: "We would like to reassure parents that the findings of inspectors are being taken very seriously by the school and the local authority and that a very rigorous action plan is in place to ensure all safeguarding issues are dealt with immediately."
Following Ofsted's May inspection, the school and council put measures in place to improve safeguarding. But Ofsted still had concerns after its latest visit.
Mike Furbank, head of achievement and inclusion at East Riding Council, said: "The overall judgment of the report of the monitoring visit is disappointing, but I am heartened by the clear improvement in many areas."

“"House more non whites in the catchment area so the pupils can see the true benefits of multiculturism."
Ha Ha "the benefits of multi-culturism" please list them for our benefit.
Try going to Saudi Arabia and being multi cultural. It's only in this weak need lily-livered country we make apologies for ourselves and kow tow to everyone.
If the ideas now running through some folks deadheads existed in 1939-1945 then the swastika would now be flying over the houses of parliament.”

“The origin of these horrible, unfortunate comments originate from the parent's (or lack of them). I have taught my children that all people are equal, and the same no matter where they come from, what their skin colour is, or their religion. Simple isn't it? If only the whole world could think like this!!”

“This is unacceptable. What we must do to rid the vile racist language there is make the school MORE diverse. House more non whites in the catchment area so the pupils can see the true benefits of multiculturism.
Racism will only be fully conquered when we make all the majority white schools 100% diverse.
(I concede however, in some schools in the UK that already approach 100% diversity, the racism has been eliminated and it is not some children that feel unsafe. It is the teachers!)”

“Most racism im afraid is perceived. But people are told by the do gooders that if they feel like they are been discriminated against then they MUST have been discriminated against. This creates fear of saying something that might offend someone and to avoid this I personally cannot talk freely to someone who isn't English.”
