Profile: Chief Constable Justine Curran
JUSTINE Curran joined Greater Manchester Police straight from university as a graduate entrant, being one of 18 people chosen from 1,800 applicants for an accelerated promotion scheme.
Within three years, she was a sergeant covering Manchester city centre and the infamous Moss Side district. She became a chief inspector at the age of 32.
Four years later, she was promoted to the role of superintendent in Merseyside Police.
She later returned to Greater Manchester Police as divisional commander for north Manchester, becoming an assistant chief constable for the force in 2007.
