Since joining Winifred Holtby in 2004 the aim was always to instil a sense of pride in our students and ensure the school was at the heart of the community.
Year on year the dedicated staff have continued to raise the aspirations of the students and while improved GCSE outcomes are a vital tool in gauging this they do not tell the whole story.
Last year, the introduction of the new school gave us the perfect catalyst to relaunch ourselves with even higher standards and expectations and we were able to bring about further improvements by ensuring students took a pride not only in themselves but in the school they represent.
The school is a beacon that represents to everyone what can be achieved if we all work together. It has brought about nothing but positive change.
