Rapist jailed for seven years
A RAPIST caught 18 years after he committed the crime following advances in DNA technology has been sentenced to seven years in jail.
Paul Dook, 45, raped the woman in 1991 then in 2006 he was arrested for assault – although no charges were brought – and police took a sample of his DNA.

When the rape case was reopened last year, detectives discovered Dook's DNA matched evidence at the rape scene.
A jury last month took an hour to find him guilty of rape. He was sentenced at Hull Crown Court today.
Dook, of Green Lane, Burton Pidsea, raped the 22-year-old victim after meeting her at the former LA's nightclub in Hull, when he offered her a lift.
Instead of driving her home to Cottingham, he took her to a lay-by at Risby, off the A164 near Skidby, and subjected her to a terrifying ordeal.

“George, The other point i forgot to mention is that with the current loss of thousands of peoples data! I see that the people are not intitled to compensation! And nor will they see any as well!
Even tho possibly some peoples data has been used if lost by this government!
Yet its the people who pick up the bill simply by having their bank accounts emptied and their details used to gain credit everywhere!
And i can tell you it can run from hundreds of pounds to thousands of pounds to clear your name from the credit reference agencies and other credit establishments!
So george yes in theory your comment is a good idea but unless someone comes up with a full proof idea then its a no for me!”

“Mick, if you do nothing wrong than what can they find / see ?
What are you worried about ?
The positives far out way the negatives. I'm sure if it was a relative/friend of yours who got raped (God forbid) then I'm sure you'd be in favour of these schemes.”

“George, While i agree with certain aspects of your comment, On the other hand, Are you suggesting that you agree about the government id card scheme as well??
For one ive been a law abiding citizen all my life!
But how can people trust the governments past and present and future over possible loss of that data! As this has been already proved in certain government departments!
I for one like many others dont want the government watching over us like we are all potiential criminals! What with spy cameras already installed and illegal police activities been exposed, Once this country agrees with DNA it will open the door for the government to tell us that Id card schemes are conpulsiory, Government intelligence agencies, will then think of new ideas possibly to track our every movements including when we are home on a night!
Thats the argument people are putting about this DNA scheme! If we could trust governments then it wouldnt be a problem! But simple fact is we cant!”
