Rising stars of roots music scene head to region
RISING stars of the American roots music scene The Mastersons are heading to East Yorkshire.
Husband and wife duo Chris and Eleanor Whitmore will be live on stage at The Back Room in Cottingham, on Monday, October 22.

Tickets are selling well and venue owner Paul Sutton is expecting a rush of interest after the couple appear on The Bob Harris Show on BBC Radio 2 next week.
The Mastersons, who hail from Texas, are key members of Steve Earle's Dukes and Duchesses.

Eleanor has played with the likes of Diana Ross and Regina Spektor and Chris has played in the bands of Jack Ingram, Bobby Bare Junior and more.
They will be promoting their new album, Birds Fly South, which they say features "bright melodies, dark lyrics, inventive harmonies, sparkle and twang."
Mr Sutton said: "We were fortunate to be able to book The Mastersons a few months ago because we got the feeling they are were going to be pretty big and the appearance on Radio 2 supports that.
"Bob Harris recorded them playing as a full band when he was in Nashville for the Americana conference.
"The album has been very well received. They're getting a lot of media coverage and as a small venue we're advising people to get their tickets in advance for this one."
Before that, singer Michael Weston King and Grammy- nominated songwriter and producer Peter Case arrive at the Hallgate venue as part of a 21-date UK tour on Monday.
