IN THE East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Premier Division's final week it was the battle to avoid relegation that took centre stage.

Four teams battled it out to avoid joining Humbleton in Division One next season.

North Ferriby bowled Humbleton out for 104 with Joe Harrison (23), John Tweddle (4 for 28) and Simon Cook (4 for 7).

Ferriby reached their target and safety with nine wickets to spare with Kenny Donaldson (55no) and Matthew Dennison (34).

Gareth Nicholls (55), Luke Picken (53) and Mike Sikala (28no) helped Hessle to 195 all out at Hill Top, with Gavin Wilkinson (3 for 55) and Laurence Wilkinson (4 for 32).

Despite 67 from Laurence Wilkinson, Hill Top were all out for 143 with Picken taking 6 for 16 to ensure Hessle's safety.

Sutton-on-Hull hosted Kirk Ella and scored 142 for 8 with Paul Ollett 57 and Rich Hopper 31no.

Kirk Ella fell just short of victory, being all out for 137.

Hull hosted HICE and were all out for 138, with Paul Mudd 56 and Paul Hodgson 36, while Jamie Forrester took 3 for 4 for the hosts.

Despite Roger Sago's 6 for 28 and 3 for 45 from Harvey Mudd, Ionians hung on to a one-wicket win to send Hull down to Division One.

Forrester top-scored for Ionians with 57 and Grant Van Es chipped in with 30.

Patrington signed off with the lion's share of the points in a drawn game at Beverley.

Pats totalled 253 all out with Stuart Guy (67), Jamie McKinley (42) and Adrian Critchley (34), while T Heytack took 3 for 43 for the hosts, who replied with 190 for 8.

South Holderness scored 192 for 4 at Airmyn with Rich Ingram (102no).

Airmyn were never in the hunt and were out for 102.
