BEVERLEY: Molescroft Primary School is to hold a sports fair for pupils to keep the Olympic legacy alive.

Head teacher Michael Loncaster has invited more than 40 organisations to set up stalls at the school on Wednesday, October 24, to explain to pupils what they have to offer.

He said: "Following the wonderful summer Olympics, we, like many others, have been considering our lasting legacy of the Games.

"The amount and diversity of sport at Molescroft Primary School is already well above the average.

"Our commitment to providing great sporting opportunities both in and out of school time remains but, in addition, we have developed new initiatives.

"I hope this will open some new exciting avenues for our pupils and who knows, maybe set someone on the route to Olympic success in the future."

The St Leonard's Road primary will also be introducing sports to pupils including handball and seated volleyball – a paralympic sport.
