"I wasn't expecting to get through and I'm really happy."
Thursday night's audience at the Three Crowns pub on Anlaby Road, west Hull, were entertained by six talented singers.
Claire Louise, a 20-year-old singer from Hessle, Charlotte Kerr, a 20-year-old market research student from Anlaby Road, west Hull, Kerry Marie, a 28-year-old garage worker from Hedon Road, east Hull, and Dylan James, a 33-year-old driver from west Hull, all gave confident performances.
It made the decision difficult for judges Chrissy, Mally King and Kim Key.
Funds raised from the contest go to Dove House Hospice, the Mail's charity of the year.
This year's event is sponsored by Devilfishpoker.com – run by Hull poker player Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott.
The first of four semi-finals of Talent Trail will begin next Tuesday at the Hull Trades and Labour Club on Beverley Road.
