Serving up family-friendly carvery

IF YOU want to take the whole family for a tasty and traditional Sunday lunch this week, you can try The Wheelhouse.

The family-friendly pub in Beverley Road, Hull, specialises in a carvery and serves this throughout the week, along with an alternative menu.

On a Sunday, diners can expect a choice of three succulent meats, which are gammon, beef or turkey.

You can also choose from three different types of potatoes – roasted, mashed or boiled. Seven different fresh vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and stuffing are also on offer.

During the week the carvery is priced at £3.95 for adults and £3.49 for children, but on a Sunday, it is priced at £6.25 for adults and £3.49 for children.

But if you don't fancy a carvery, the alternative menu offers a lot of other delicious dishes for you to choose from.

It includes choices such as curry, steak, bbq chicken melt or The Wheelhouse whopper, which is a 14oz haddock. All of the mains start from £6.95.

If you don't have a large appetite, the pub has some light bites on the menu, too, including a hot roast sandwich, which can be served with chips or roast potatoes.

The Wheelhouse also caters for vegetarians, with a choice of five different dishes available.

If you have some room left after your meal, The Wheelhouse has a tempting dessert menu, with choices starting from £3.25. It includes chocolate fudge cake, Belgian waffle or toffee lumpy bumpy.

It also has a large selection of drinks to accompany your meal, including three cask ales, cask cider, two guest changing beers and its exclusive Wheelhouse best bitter.

The Wheelhouse is very family-friendly and has a children's menu, which includes pizza or chicken nuggets, all priced at £3.49. On a Sunday there is a bouncy castle for the children to enjoy, too.

The Wheelhouse also has a variety of entertainment. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a brainbox, the quiz night on Thursdays and Sundays is for you.

Or, there is the popular over-50s club on Thursdays and Mondays and there are various cabaret nights, too. There is also a heated smoking area, ample floodlit parking and disabled access.

And if you're looking to hold a celebration, The Wheelhouse can cater for parties, including wedding receptions.

The carvery is served Monday to Saturday, from noon to 7.30pm and Sunday, from noon to 6pm. The alternative menu is served Monday to Saturday, from noon to 8pm; and Sunday, from noon to 7pm.
