Shannon McDonnell confirmed as Hull FC's seventh signing
Shannon McDonnell says he knows he has made the right decision after making his cross-city switch from Hull KR to Hull FC.
The Australian has finally been unveiled as the Black and Whites' seventh signing for 2013 on a two-year deal.
-

Crossing over: Shannon McDonnell
The 25-year-old full-back will link-up with former Rovers team-mates Liam Watts and Ben Galea next season.
McDonnell said: "Hull FC is a good place to be, the club are moving forward and they have recruited well for next year so I know I've made the right decision.

And as a close friend of the McDonnell family, having coached Shannon during the pair's time together at Wests, Hull FC head coach Peter Gentle is delighted to secure his signature.
He said: "Shannon is a player I have followed for a number of years and he impressed in his first season over here with Hull KR, but there is still a lot more to come from him.
"Along with Richard Horne, he will give us some real strength in depth in the full back position next season."

“how can a rovers fan complain about aussies in our game and have a dig at gentle when they have just bought 3 more across making nine and fc only five. dont understand that statement”

"To put it simple, Rovers have lost of their best players in Taylor, Galea, Green, Watts and McDonnell and have replaced them with unknowns and unwanted's. FC have strengthened in their attacking options, added steel and experience, along with some great young talent. You Rovers trolls must know deep down that only 1 club in Hull will be in a position to compete in the forthcoming seasons. If you don't then you are even more misguided than you lead us to
believe.".......
The above post is typical of the self-deluding claptrap which emerges every close Season from FC fans.
If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious.
When Pearson goes, your Club goes, both things will happen over the next 18 months.”

“cannot wait till next season to watch you big headed hull muppets watch your so called massive top 4 club crumble right from under you when pearson pulls the plug and you sink for the second time in your history. but this time they will be no merger and hull fc will become a whisper which everyone in rugby league will forget..”

“He played 12 games which equated to £10,000 a game. He spends most of the time complaining he is injured (rather like Webser does). A total waster who happens to be big buddies with Gentle. When will British Rugby League realise that the Aussies operate a 'cartel' - they protect one another. Super League MUST restrict imports to 3 per club otherwise the game will not survive! Players like McDonnell are killing Super League and it must stop!”

“kr sell sell, very much like the time when Hull Sharks went to the RL squealing like stuck pigs for a handout.
Still, it helped their rebirth as Gateshull (est.1998)
Don't forget - BEL13VE, still LMAO!
lol”

“One thing for sure GEVans76, all being well I will be meeting Forest, Westhullred, Stottlemeyer and others, before the international against France next week.
We have a 'camaraderie' of sorts, no doubt you will say misplaced but there again we love the banter. We are developing it into an art form. The downward pointing reds signify the bites. Perhaps it stems from the dark days when we had to put up with the cr*p from your associate's. Is it all a game? Perhaps so.
Well, you Gateshull (est.1998) fans appear to have eddy and dexter spearheading your response, I wonder if they meet for a pint? (perish the thought, I bet dexter is a single malt man.) eddy would bring his Lego set and gibber.
BEL3VE ?? Time will tell. In five years we could all be supporting a merged club. (I sincerely hope that won't be the case.) To be fair, you are a good poster.
I am being too nice today.
lol”

“MikeHKR, I'd be grateful if you'd swap vantage points with me for next Season.
The McDonnell I saw was a weak tackler with no positional awareness.
He couldn't defend, went missing if it wasn't warm and sunny and was out of his depth.
Rovers will do well to finish in the Top 8 next year, though I think they'll manage it.
Hull FC will not improve from 6th.”
