EAST YORKS: Sites in North Cave and Pollington have been earmarked for future sand and rock quarries by East Riding Council.

The North Cave site is at Wold Hill. In Pollington, the area identified is opposite the airfield. The council has launched a consultation which ends on Monday, March 19.

After that, the authority will produce a report into the extraction of minerals. But no firm decision is likely to be made until next year.
