In November, H&H was crowned Small Business of the Year at the Mail News & Media Business Awards and named runner-up in the Start-up Business of the Year Award.
Now, after picking up its latest trophy at a ceremony in Covent Garden, H&H joins the likes of Coca-Cola, Morrisons, NSPCC and Gatwick Airport as CIPR award-winners.
Ms Thoresby said: "It's always fantastic to be shortlisted for an award, but winning it is just amazing.
"We've already had a number of calls from large blue chips wanting to hear more about who we are."
The CIPR Awards recognise outstanding achievements in the field of employee engagement and internal communications and are the most coveted and prestigious in the industry.
Ms Bissett said: "There were a few dropped jaws at the event when a small Hull agency was named Best Agency ahead of many well-established global and national agencies."
Ms Thoresby and Ms Bissett, who between them have more than 30 years of industry experience, first met at a networking group.
However it was not until they worked together on a brief that they realised they had the kind of chemistry that was perfect for business.
"Before launching H&H, Hannah and I had worked together on a brief," said Ms Bissett.
"There were about 300 pages of briefing and I remember looking at it and thinking it was quite scary, but after we got through it and saw the results we realised we worked really well together.
"That was what made us realise 'this is what we should be doing'.
"With all the creative genius Hannah brings to things and my input in behavioural psychology and coaching, we realised if we could combine our skills we could really change how people respond to communication internally."
