THE Immobilise tracking system has been used to recover a number of bicycles.

Last year, Abigail Faulkner, 10, benefited from the marking scheme after her bike was stolen from a garden in Victoria Dock.

Police were able to return it to her after discovering the markings.

She said: "I had it marked when I did cycling proficiency at school. I'm really pleased to get it back."

Her mum Amanda, 43, said: "It's great to have it back. Her sister's bike went missing a few years ago and we had to replace it. It's a good scheme.

"I recommend that people get their bikes marked."
