'10cm' of snow forecast for Hull and East Yorkshire as mild weather to make way for big freeze
Snow and freezing temperatures are on their way to Hull and East Yorkshire this weekend.
Weather forecasters say the mild weather the region has been enjoying since the New Year is on its way out.

A cyclist struggles through snow in Barrington Avenue, Hull, last month.
Snow and cold winds are due on Saturday night and Sunday, when temperatures will drop as low as -4C.
The Met Office has today issued a severe weather warning for the east coast and says up to 10cm of snow could fall in some places, particularly over hills.

Sean Penston, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, said: "In the next few days it will start getting colder.
"The minimum temperature could be -4C or -5C in some parts.
"There's more of an easterly wind coming in, with the possibility of snow showers by the weekend and the start of next week.
"It’s difficult to say for certain at the moment, but there will be quite a bit of snow for the east coast."
A scattering of rain showers is expected for East Yorkshire tomorrow (Friday) - with sleet falling over higher ground.
The Met Office is forecasting the worst of the snow between midnight and mid-morning on Sunday, with a possibility of more to come on Monday and Tuesday.

“Brilliant!
I love this time of year. It is difficult to get about but the sheer joy of laughing at some of the idiotic statments will see me through.
'There should have been more information sent out telling people how to use grit... it is no good just putting it in a box at the end of the street' was a classic.
Charlie Brooker put it perfectly in a rant about weather being described as 'treacherous'.”

“I cycled home in the last snow blizzard which was between 1400-1700 one afternoon last month. The only struggle was that as my glasses got covered in snow, I had to take them off and the snowflakes being blown into my eyes hurt.”

“Didn`t know we had snow last month in Barrington Ave. Was anywhere else affected? Why was the cyclist struggling - it looks as if there was only a light covering.”
