Snow heralds winter in Hull as wet weekend forecast

A weather warning remains in place this morning after snow fell across Hull overnight.

More wintry showers are forecast this morning with a chance of sunny spells this afternoon.

Temperatures will again drop as low as 1C tonight, according to the Met Office.

East Riding Council said it was ready to salt the main road network tonight because surface temperatures were expected to fall below freezing.
