More wintry showers are forecast for Hull and East Yorkshire today.

The Met Office said sleet would fall this afternoon and into the early evening.

A severe weather warning has been issued for ice.

Temperatures will reach a maximum of 5C, dropping to -4C tonight.

Travel

Stagecoach and EYMS both said they were operating normal services despite the icy conditions.

Earlier, buses were unable to serve Inmans estate, Hedon, because of ice, but the problem has now cleared.

A good service is reported on local train lines but there are delays of up to 40 minutes on the east coast mainline.

Schools

St Mary Queen of Martyrs RC Primary, in Hull, is closed today because of a burst water pipe.
