Snowfall of up to 10cm expected in East Yorkshire tomorrow with more on higher ground
FURTHER snow is on the way for East Yorkshire with forecasters predicting falls of between five and 10 centimetres tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning alerting people to be aware of potential disruption likely to affect our area in the early evening as people make their way home from work.
A weather front moving across the UK from the Atlantic will bring flurries across the country with depths of between two to five centimetres likely in the south and five to 10 cm more likely in parts of the north, with up to 15cm over northern hills possible.
Strong winds are also expected to lead to drifting, particularly over higher level roads in the north.

“Do they say 10cm because it sounds better than 4".”

“@locallad
Teachers didn't have 3 weeks off at Christmas: 21 December - 7 January is not 3 weeks.
Perhaps you became embittered about teachers because they kept telling you to pay more attention when you were at school?”

“localad, not a stupid post I'm just wondering why are you bothered about teachers getting time off. Does it effect you? Teachers do not decide how many holidays they have to take or put on their coats and clear off home when it snows. I wouldn't fancy working in a school even with the so called too many holidays they get.”

“RHHullNproud, I have no school age kids, so what a stupid post, however i do have contempt for the lazy bloody teachers who already get far too much time off.
They had 3 weeks over Christmas and still had an extra day for supposed teacher training.
The amount of schools closed is a disgrace, the weather has not been that bad.”

“localad and rich99, are you worried that you have to find a babysitter if the kids are sent home? If you are simple answer don't have kids and if you haven't whats your problem?”

“@looplu89: I did an hour ago: there was no warning on either webs site! Things must be changing fast or the HDM are psychic!”

“@1simongarner if you watch the weather or look on met office I think you will find there is a weather warning for our area!”

“Have looked at both the Met office & BBC websites: no significant snow forecast for our area; why are you making stories up?”

“Better shut the schools now, can't have those poor teachers trying to get to school in a snow flurry now can we.
Thye haven't had any holidays since christmas, they must be exhausted.”
