Sone Aluko surgery 'a huge, huge blow' to Hull City
SONE Aluko is all but certain to need an operation on his Achilles injury, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old is being given two weeks of complete rest in the hope he recovers, but manager Steve Bruce admits that is highly unlikely.
-

Catalyst: Sone Aluko has been a star player in Hull City's promotion drive.
"It's not looking good unfortunately, it looks as though he will need an operation," Bruce admitted.
"We are going to give him a couple of weeks off and totally switch him off and see if that has any impact. I can’t see that being the case, but you never know.

"It looks as though he needs and operation, and if that is the case we will miss him for the rest of the season which is a huge, huge blow to us.
"It’s a real crying shame for him and for us as up until December and Boxing Day he was arguably the best player in the league. It’s tragic, but that's football."

“Telling people to support their local team is ludacris. Nutters. Dont get me wrong im a massive hull city fan home and away and would love more fans. In this game you have freedom to support who you want. Just dont start claiming to be a city when we are back in the premier league.
Take for instance all our new found egyptian fans. (I LOVE THEM)
A lot of different factors go into that opinion to which I cba to go into anyone with an equal mind would probably agree.”

“In the absence of Aluko, can anyone tell me why Peterborough would loan us Boyd right now, isn't their Championship status more valuable than his loan fee to Hull? They've missed out on a transfer fee, would the loan fee be of a similar value to the £500,000 it was said that Forest were about to pay? Just curious.”

“Some slight comfort is our top scorer from last season could be fit in a couple of months, he could be vital in the run in with Gedo as no-one seems to be contributing up top with him”

“Does that mean that we will have to wait until the Prem next season to see Sone and Gedo together on the pitch?”

“What I can't understand is why the hell can't you support your local football team and Rugby team. I've supported City and Hull Fc for donkeys and coming from Hull where the hell is the problem with that. Some so called supporters on these sites are muppetts to say the least.
For christ sake support your local team . if its football so be it, Rugby or even bloody ice hockey does it matter ??? Get a life some of you for gods sake”

“Why is there always some miserable so and so who, not being able to have a pop at the result or performance, chooses the attendance instead?
Some people need to take a good look at themselves, whiteblack, as they are never happy unless they are having to slate something or other.
Says a lot about their character, or lack of it!
While each individual attendance was fairly low given our league position, it is obviously down to the state of the economy and peoples personal finances.
However, three home games in the space of a week meant around 47,000 through the turnstiles.”
